Not only adults, children do worry.!
We are not the only ones who worry, fear or stress. Our little ones too face all this. It is not necessary that they don’t have to pay bills, cook food or look after their family. So, they won’t have any fear or they won’t worry about anything. Kids worrying or having fears is normal. Parents can help their kids feel safe and learn to feel at ease.
But the question is what makes your little ones worry about?
They may’ve fear of getting separated from their parents: Kids sometimes feel when their parents aren’t around them. This means they have gone or are far from them. This is a common fear that every kid might have at a certain age. They begin to worry the moment they feel this.
Grades or home assignments: The school going kids generally have a fear of scoring good marks. If they don’t score good marks, then they are afraid of showing it to their parents. They keep worrying how to tell or they look up ways to hide it from them. Not only this, they worry about the homework that they haven’t completed.
Being rejected: They may worry about being left out, rejected or criticized. This is one of the common fears that even adults may have. This is not a good feeling. With this, we tend to worry a lot.
Ways to help your kid in conquering his worry:
Show them you care and understand: When you show your interest in your child’s matter. It shows that you are really concerned for him and you really care. This helps them in easing out their worry.
Build healthy relations: It is very important that you have good relations with your little one. Sharing a healthy relationship will result in your kid sharing everything with you. Be it their fear, worry or any other. By sharing you may help him in conquering his worry or fear.
Reassure them: Reassurance is something that we all need and for your little one it is quite necessary. You may hug them or spend some quality time with them. This will comfort them. they will feel secure and they will feel that you are with them no matter what.
Be a good role model: It is really important how you deal with your own worries, how you overcome your own fears. Because your child looks up to you and they observe you. The way you react and deal, your kids will learn that as the appropriate response to stress.
Thus, it is normal that your kid may worry about something but as parents it is your duty to handle them and help them in conquering their worries.
